Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a beautiful place with icebergs and glaciers .A large glacier at the lagoon is Breidamerkurjokull Glacier which is part of the huge Vatnajokull Glacier. Vatnajokull makes up eight percent of icelands land mass and is the largest in europe.Some icebergs are over 1000 years old. Also the deepest lake in iceland is Jökulsárlón which is 820 feet deep. It was also a filming locations for films such as Die another day and Tomb Raider. The Lagoon formed because the glaciers started melting and made a lake. There are majestic ice caves. The walls of the caves are blue and crystal like. The caves are blue because of the thickness of the ice. Made of pure water , Ice caves are formed when the water melting off the glaciers or icebergs runs through a glacier and erodes the ice. At one point the cave is over 330 feet deep. In part of the cave the lights can be turned off and it is completely dark and silent.
